Float Payments Pty Ltd, ABN 66 676 488 243, ACN 676 488 243, Australian Credit Licence 561664.
This page tells you who we are, what our business loans cost, how to ask for a copy of our assessment, and how to complain if something goes wrong. Our personal loans are covered in our Credit Guide.
1. About us and our business loans
Float Payments Pty Ltd (Float, we, us, our) is the lender. We do not arrange credit with other lenders.
- ACN 676 488 243 · Australian Credit Licence 561664
- Email: info@floatpayments.com.au
- Address: GPO Box 1894, Brisbane City QLD 4001
We provide three unsecured business loans:
- Float Business Starter ($10,000 to $25,000, 6 to 24 months)
- Float Business Growth ($25,001 to $50,000, 12 to 36 months)
- Float Business Accelerate ($50,001 to $100,000, 12 to 48 months)
Business loans are for business purposes only. You sign a business purpose declaration, and we check that the loan is for your business. If the money is mainly for personal or household use, a personal loan is the right product.
Business loans are outside the National Credit Code, the law that sets the rules for personal loans.
2. How we decide whether to lend
We look at your business revenue, how long you have been trading, your expenses and your credit history to decide whether the business can afford the repayments.
3. Your right to a copy of our assessment
You can ask us for a written copy of the assessment we made of your business loan. There is no charge. If you ask:
- before you enter the contract: we will give it to you before then;
- within 2 years of entering the contract: within 7 business days; and
- between 2 and 7 years: within 21 business days.
4. Fees and charges
The fees and charges that apply to your loan are set out in full in your credit contract. In summary, each business loan has interest, which we set when we assess your application, and one establishment fee, which is a set-up fee added to your loan. There is no monthly account fee.
Float Business Starter ($10,000 to $25,000, 6 to 24 months)
Interest at 16.99% to 29.99% a year. An establishment fee of 2.5% of the amount borrowed, added to your loan.
WARNING: this comparison rate is true only for this example and may not include all fees and charges. Different terms, fees or loan amounts might result in a different comparison rate.
Float Business Growth ($25,001 to $50,000, 12 to 36 months)
Interest at 14.99% to 27.99% a year. An establishment fee of 2% of the amount borrowed, added to your loan.
WARNING: this comparison rate is true only for this example and may not include all fees and charges. Different terms, fees or loan amounts might result in a different comparison rate.
Float Business Accelerate ($50,001 to $100,000, 12 to 48 months)
Interest at 12.99% to 24.99% a year. An establishment fee of 1.5% of the amount borrowed, added to your loan.
WARNING: this comparison rate is true only for this example and may not include all fees and charges. Different terms, fees or loan amounts might result in a different comparison rate.
The law does not require us to show a comparison rate for business loans. We show one so you can compare the cost.
Other fees
- Late payment fee: $50.
- Dishonoured payment fee: $50.
- Early repayment: no fee.
5. If you have a complaint
If you are not happy with something, please tell us first so we can try to fix it:
Email: complaints@floatpayments.com.au
We will handle your complaint under our internal dispute resolution process (consistent with ASIC Regulatory Guide 271) and aim to respond within the required timeframes. This is the same for business loans as for personal loans.
If we cannot resolve it to your satisfaction, you may be able to take it to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), a free and independent external dispute resolution scheme that we are a member of. AFCA can look at complaints from small businesses. Whether yours is covered depends on its size and the amount involved.
- AFCA member number: 108485
- Phone: 1800 931 678
- Email: info@afca.org.au
